Andrew gained practical working experience within the freight forwarding and ships agency environments while studying towards the National Diploma in Maritime Studies. Upon successful completion of his tertiary education, Andrew was employed as a cargo surveyor in Durban and Richards Bay. Andrew has also worked for a firm of local brokers as a hull risk assessor (pleasure craft). Andrew joined the Company in January 2004 and subsequently transferred to Port Elizabeth in order to establish an office in that centre. In September 2006 he once again returned to the Durban office to be appointed Branch Manager in August 2007.
Tony Gryffenberg
Surveyor (Port Elizabeth)
Tony Gryffenberg started his career with the South African Railways, being promoted to Chief Administration Official in 2000, leading to a transfer to the head office in Johannesburg. His main area of expertise was developed in the bulk and break bulk sectors. In 1995 Tony achieved a Diploma in Management. In 2002 he accepted a new appointment as an Operations Controller in the port of Richards Bay dealing with bulk cargoes such as Ferro Chrome, Ferro Manganese, Chrome Ore, Woodchips, Chloride and others. A Dangerous Goods course was completed in 2003. Since 2004 Tony was responsible for the operation of the Port Elizabeth Manganese Ore export terminal prior to joining Rennie Murray & Company in 2007.
